There was y there were son el pasado de "there is" y "there are". 

There was y there were significa en español había, habían o hubo. 

Let´s see 👀some examples: 

There was se usa cuando hablamos de una cosa en singular. 

• There was a pencil on the table. (Había un lápiz sobre la mesa).

There were se usa para el plural, es decir, cuando hablamos de dos o mas cosas y solo para cosas contables (que se pueden contar). 

• There were three blind mice. (Habían tres ratones ciegos). 

Negative form: There wasn´t ⇒ no había             There weren´t ⇒ no habían

Happy Easter Holidays!!!

Hello everybody!!! 

Bueno chicos, hoy es el último día de clase del 2º trimestre. Como sabéis, empiezan las vacaciones de Semana Santa, así que ahora toca descansar un poquito. 

En esta entrada de blog, os voy a hacer algunas recomendaciones para estos días. 

¿Sabíais que?... El Domingo de Pascua, los niños y niñas de Reino Unido y otros países como Estados Unidos, se regalan huevos de Pascua, comen huevos de chocolate, decoran huevos de Pascua y juegan con ellos a varios juegos tradicionales. 

Uno de estos juegos es "EGG ROLL", que se suele celebrar el Lunes de Pascua y consiste en  rodar o empujar un huevo por una colina hacia abajo. 

Otro juego muy popular es "EASTER EGG HUNT", que se celebra el Domingo de Pascua. Cuenta la leyenda que cada domingo de Pascua, el conejo  "Easter bunny" deja huevos en todas las casas y los niños tienen que encontrarlos.

¿Os gustaría jugar?

• Os propongo algunos de estos juegos tan divertidos para jugar con vuestras familias.

Easter Egg roll: cada persona tiene que tener un huevo cocido (podéis decorarlos). Se trata de hacer una carrera con los huevos y que no se salgan de la línea o del camino que marquéis. Tenéis que marcar una linea de salida y otra de meta y hacer rodar vuestro huevo hasta la meta, podéis empujar con una cuchara.

Easter egg hunt: este juego consiste en la caza de huevos de Pascua. Uno de los miembros de la familia esconde todos los huevos (pueden ser cocidos que habéis decorado, en papel, de chocolate...) por los diferentes rincones de vuestra casa. Podéis escribir en un papel pistas para ayudar a encontrar los huevos de Pascual que faltan. ¡Ánimo, es muy divertido!

• Podéis hacer algunas manualidades como crear un conejo de pascual, escribir una tarjeta a vuestros amigos y amigas, pintar huevos, etc. Os dejo algunos enlaces:

• En este enlace podéis ver una de las recetas típicas en Reino Unido durante estos días Hot Cross Buns, se suelen preparar en Viernes Santo. Se dice que comer uno de estos panecillos entre dos amigos asegura la amistad. Los niños y niñas suelen preparar estos dulces al son de esta rima: Hot cross buns! hot cross buns! One a penny, two a penny, hot cross buns! If you have no daughters, give them to your sons. One a penny, two a penny, hot cross buns! 😀

Today, 1 April, in the UK (United Kingdom) is `April Fool´s Day´. This is a day when when people play tricks on each other for fun. If the person falls for the joke, then they are called `April Fool´ It´s only halfa a day because April Fool´s Day finishes at midday. No more jokes after lunchtime, please!

Hoy, 1 de abril, en Reino Unido, se celebra el día de las bromas. Este día es cuando la gente gasta bromas a otros para divertirse. Si la persona cae en la broma, entonces se le llama `April Fool´. Esto solo es hasta mediodía, después de la comida, se pueden gastar más bromas, por favor.

Hay un día especial en el que se gasten bromas en tu país?
Siiiiiiiiii....nosotros en España tenemos el "Día de Los Santos Inocentes", el día 28 de diciembre.
